About Us

Our name 'Isandhlwana Investments' is named after a mountain called 'Isandhlwana (or Isandlwana) located in northern Kwa-Zulu Natal, below which a historic battle was fought between the Zulu and English armies in 1879. The outcome of the battle was a resounding victory for the Zulu nation.

We at Isandhlwana Investments believe that the wars fought throughout history although an integral part of our history, are a stark reminder to us that true peace and security is brought about by something other than fighting. Rather the sitting down and sharing of cultures, ideas, skills and resources are what can bring about lasting solutions to problems. We wholeheartedly support the approach in our business of 'sitting down', whether it be with our customers, suppliers or staff, and coming to an agreement on anything ranging from resolving a complaint to listening to a new idea that will improve our product. We have found this open minded approach beneficial to customers and to our own business.

Our strength lies in the fact that the director's have fused their construction and financial skills to form a powerful business model that ensures rapid high quality developments which are financially well managed. Mark van der Berg has a diploma in building management as well as having worked in the construction industry since 1992 whilst Laurence Beath has a BCompt and BCompt Honours degree, is registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, as well as having worked and consulted in the financial and property industry since 1988.
